What is Personal Care?
Personal care is a non-medical service provided to older adults who require assistance with day-to-day activities and support in their homes, or other independent living environments. A need for assistance exists when the client is unable to complete an activity due to cognitive impairment, functional disability, physical health problems, or safety.
What is Companion Care?
Companion Care is a non-medical service for younger adults or disabled persons tailored to provide emotional support, friendship, and socialization based on their needs. The care provided engages them in social, physical or mental activities, and “protection,” which means monitoring their safety inside and outside of the home.
What is Respite Care?
Respite care provides short-term relief for primary caregivers, giving them time to rest, travel, or spend time with other family and friends. The care may last anywhere from a few hours to several weeks at a time(from two weeks to up to three months). Respite care can take place at home, in a health care facility, or at an adult day care center.
What is Dementia/Alzheimer's Care?
Dementia care refers to caring for all conditions defined as dementia – such as Alzheimer's, Lewy Body Dementia, Vascular Dementia and Combined. It covers care for these conditions at all stages.
